A small but diverse nature reserve near Safffron Walden, managed by a local Friends Group. It has a patch of ancient, mainly oak, woodland, an area of thorn scrub, some rough grassland, a pond, and a meadow area that is grazed by rare breed sheep.
The meadow has a good population of a rare plant – wild liquorice – and also yellow wort and pyramidal orchid. Bluebells, dog's mercury and just a few oxlips grow in the wood. In summer there's a chance of seeing silver-washed fritillary or marbled white butterflies.

Electric fences are used to enclose the sheep. Please keep children and dogs well away.
